Proceeds from this event are used exclusively for funding an annual Student Scholarship for $1000 and for buying mineral hardness kits that are given to k-12 teachers at the annual Minnesota Mineral Education Workshop (MMEW). In addition, the AIPG MN Section supports undergraduate geoscience majors by providing free registration to our monthly technical luncheons and by providing free copies of our national publication, “The Professional Geologist,” with extra copies of the annual student issue.  In January of 2017, we donated $2,000 to the new University of Minnesota course, “Practical Skills for Geoscience Professionals.”

Please review the summary table below to see how the MN Section of AIPG uses generous donations to help support geoscience education in Minnesota.
